2.You are required to produce a personal portfolio that provides evidence of your own development of various leadership competences within a business context.

Your portfolio MUST include reflections on your experiences and these reflections should be supported by applying some of the models/theory from the course and your reading.

Combined this should show the development of your own leadership behaviours, attitudes and skills. (B.A.S. e). As a result, your portfolio will show the reader how you have developed and enhanced four topics of leadership potential during the period of the module.

3. The evidence you include can be any combination of real-life work experiences (past or current), exercises that you have completed during the seminar sessions, your self-completion tasks, or other relevant experiences that help show your own leadership development.

4. Your portfolio must cover the following two leadership topics:

A. Effective leadership communication

B. Decision making and problem solving as a leader

Plus, TWO of the following seven leadership topics:

C. Self-management.

D. Developing your professional identity.

E. Effective team work.

F. Effective negotiation.

G. Conflict management.

H. Coaching & mentoring others

I. Performance management.

5. In each of the 4 sections (one per leadership topic) you should consider how your own leadership development is relevant for a 21st century workplace and the kind of leadership required within it. Each of the 4 topics from the above list should be approximately of equal length. All sections should include reflections on your own experiences, appropriate theories/ applied models that should be used critically to help you discuss and make sense of your own leadership development.

6. Supporting evidence (showing your relevant experiences) should be included in the appendices, you must collect such evidence throughout the module. It can be any combination of real-life work experiences (past or current), exercises that you have completed during the seminar sessions, your self-completion tasks, or other relevant experiences that help show your own leadership development. Appendices are not included in the word count.

7. You should adopt one reflective learning cycle (Kolb (1984), Gibbs (1988) or Rolfe (2001) and follow the structure of your chosen reflective learning cycle in each of the four main sections. Your reflections should begin by describing the relevant experience before focusing on what you learnt from it, how material covered in the module helps you understand your expereince more fully and how you plan to apply your development/learning to change you approach in the future.
