Each of the students is required to select a company/organisation before teaching week 4 the teaching/learning session. Some suggestions on the company/organisation include:

Based upon the selected company/organisation, each student is required to produce a 2-page synopsis – particularly related to the current practice of the digital business strategy of the company/organisation. Students can expect to benefit from formative feedback from your tutor/s and peers within the class. Ideas, comments and thoughts shared can be used by students to further improve their understanding about the topic and prepare for the subsequent pieces of works.

Each student is required to produce a research report of 4,500 words to address the following areas. Students are strongly encouraged to utilise relevant theories/concepts/tools/ techniques, showing distinctive, independent and critical thinking.

  1. Digital technologies such as big data analytics and artificial intelligence are now considered key sources of competitive advantage. Critically evaluate your chosen company/organisation’s current digital adoption; based upon to develop an effective digital business strategy that may be implemented to increase competitiveness. Discussions and applications of strategic analytical tools are expected in this part of report.
  2. Critically appraise how the chosen company/organisation manages its business performance. Within this part of submission critical discussions of the business performance management tools are required. A list of the key performance indicators (KPIs) to measure its performance should also be provided.
  3. Critically evaluate the big data technology, indicating how this technology could be exploited by the company in order to enhance its business performance.
