• Critically evaluate and synthesise theories and models in order to design, plan, implement and manage information systems, paying particular attention to integrating them into the overall company architecture.

What am I required to do in this assignment? 

Assessment Task
You will work in groups/project teams to deliver a presentation based on a client project/mandate which relates to an information systems topic. Although you will be delivering the presentation as a project team, you will be awarded an individual mark for Assessment 1 overall, based on your individual contribution and based on the Individual Mark Assessment Criteria contained within the Assessment 1 brief.

The assessment contains three components:

A group presentation (Max 10 Slides/ 10min Presentation)

• This assignment requires each group to critically evaluate a current practice of a company/ client and highlight areas where the company can be more effective and efficient by implementing information systems approaches and techniques. 

Evaluation Report (2500)

• Reflective Report (1000 max)
• Highlighting areas of strengths and weakness working as a team and indicate certain practices where you can improve on personally
• Individual Contribution (1500 Max)
• Commenting and assessing your and your teams’ contributions to the presentation

What do I need to do to pass? (Threshold Expectations from UIF) 

Evidence an attempt to critically employ theory and concepts related to information systems/ Business analytics/intelligence to critically evaluate companies strategic perspective.
Present recommendations for improvement for the company/client using information systems/ Business analytics/ Intelligence.

How do I produce high quality work that merits a good grade?

By attending teaching sessions, preparing for and engaging in these sessions, doing wider reading and research, applying theory to work, thinking critically and adhering to the assessment brief.

How does this assignment relate to what we are doing in scheduled sessions?

The scheduled lessons aim to provide a sound basis to the topic that is being assessed in the assignment. Thus, there is a direct link between the assignment and the content covered in scheduled sessions.
